Ryan Dosumu-Johnson MD, PhD Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatrist
I am a dual board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist and neuroscientist based on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I work with children, teenagers and adults experiencing anxiety, trauma‑related symptoms, ADHD, depression and other challenges with mood, attention and stress. My goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence‑based care that supports you and your family over time.
I completed my MD and PhD in neuroscience at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. I then trained in general adult psychiatry at Columbia University and in child and adolescent psychiatry through the combined Columbia University / Weill Cornell Medicine fellowship program.
My approach considers how brain function, genetics, relationships, identity and life experiences shape your mental health. By integrating neuroscience with psychotherapy and, when appropriate, medication management, we create a plan that fits your needs, values and long‑term goals.
In our initial evaluation, we will work together to identify these influences and clarify your long-term goals. By integrating the latest advancements in neuroscience with proven treatment practices, we will develop evidence-based, personalized strategies to ensure that your care is tailored to you. Some approaches may include talk therapy, interventions such as mindfulness practices, lifestyle changes, and/or medication management.
My office is located on 251 Central Park West. I see patients in person and via Telehealth on Tuesdays and offer virtual visits other days of the week.
